Politics 101: Hire Consultants For Lots of Money

The obscene waste of 615-million dollars on consulting by the La. Dept. of Education is just the tip of the iceberg. Consulting fees are often "laundered" with a portion returned to the pockets of elected officials, called "kickbacks". Almost every Louisiana Legislator leaves office with greatly increased wealth and resources. Political connections and "kickbacks" are the fast track for accumulation of personal wealth and you don't have to pay taxes on secret, cash money. How do you stop it? You can't, because of the age old saying, "honor among thieves". The political system in Louisiana and the entire USA makes theft and graft ALMOST legal and soooo easy. Elected officials don't have to perform. They just hire someone else for the job and eventually receive part of the fee.
Taxpayers continue to be the victims and "suckers" in our great tradition of Sordid American Politics.
