Mayor Roy's credibility takes another woeful swoon as he "shoots off" his mouth and shoots himself in his political foot, again. Having no factual evidence or proof while defying reality, the Mayor suggested I published stories about the Bayou Rapides Levee and a FEMA deemed deficient 350 foot parking lot. He'd rather concoct a fantasy or spread falsehoods than have evidence to substantiate juvenile braggadocio. He mentioned an elected official/blogger who is out to politicize a situation. Well, since when does asking for the truth mean the same as politicizing? Who's afraid of the truth in this case? Apparently this "mystery" parking lot is in a shroud of secrecy. I personally asked Mayor Roy February 24th about "THE" Parking Lot on Bayou Rapides. I also asked City engineer Mike Wilkinson, Mayoral assistant Ken Juneau, the Levee Board and FEMA officials. The best answer from the Levee Board was it's either the Pentecostal or the Rapides Hospital parking lot. Why can't anyone say for SURE? The QUESTION is not political, but not getting an answer IS. The mayor had a grand opportunity to identify the parking lot, but weakly replied that it's so sad that the Town Talk gets stories from Blogs. But again that story has never been on THIS blog, until now. It's with monotonous regularity the mayor spouts bogus information with zero proof or attribution. Perhaps the Mayor could use his "fat cat" budget to hire additional assistants to slow down out of control kamikaze policies.
The mayor's animated briefing mostly involved convoluted defense of the Cleco Deal. Some often repeated phrases included, "our experts", "good problem", "complicated stuff" and the most used term "UH". As the mayor continues attacking me, surely he can muster up the gumption to FAKE just a little credibility. Where is that parking lot and why doesn't anyone want to talk about it?

When Mayor Roy runs for bigger office, what party do you think he will cozy up to? He is the master of cover-up so he could fit in either main party. He knows the city did a bogus sweetheart deal with POA and will try his typical bully tactics to keep it out of the news. Sad thing is, it will work.

Is it fair to say that Mayor Roy is absolutely obsessed with defending his own opinions and initiatives? It seems that way to me. Who cares WHAT blog it was on? Or if it was even on one? Roy has developed a serious persecution complex. I bet he has started monitoring all city employees communications. It won't be long before he institutes a "loyalty clause" into his mid to upper level staff job descriptions and contracts. No more whistle-blowers!

Mayor Roy is intelligent, young, energetic, and getting the job done in Alexandria. Just look at the recent growth in the City. He also keeps the City Councilmen in check.

Jacque Roy's job is to run the City of Alexandria and not to cater a response to your questions. Each time a question goes unanswered you feel the need to run to your blog and pout about it. I find your behavior to be akin to that of a child who is acting out for attention, or that of a jealous peer who knows they are inferior to the person they criticize, or that of child who does not get his way. Steve, Drive from the Amphitheater on the road along tthe base of the levee or walk on top of the levee behind Rapides Regional Medical Center and notice the fence parking lot that abutts the levee. It stretches to the Rapides Bayou control structure and could be about 350' in length and could pose a scouring threat as the fence and asphalt abutt the base of the levee in an area that has rip rap jetty protection for bank erosion. Check it out.

To new growth...That's a great update on all the recent growth...however..the things you mention were here years ago before pee wee roy rolled into town. How about the stores that closed? If you put a pencil to it, there is probably very little net gain in employment. One store closes and another opens. Where are the NEW jobs?

Let's all be civil. There has been some progress in Alex and the mayor has had some positive influence and deserves credit where it is due. He just needs to learn to NOT take everything so personally. Just because there is discussion of alternative ideas and opinions doesn't mean that the world is against him.

all the items mentioned in the "growth" monolog has nothing to do with the city government bringing anything into town. all the items listed are of private business, and i know for a damn fact none of them were enticed to locate to alexandria because of what the stupid, insane, and paranoid administration did. there were no tax breaks given nor any incentives. they came because of progression, which was inevitable. sorry, the only exception was wal mart on 28w.

He has attorney Kay Michiels holding 2 titles so he can pay her a hefty salary, then he has city attorney Chuck Johnson, attorney Trey Gist is listed as an assistant to Johnson, Ken Juneau and last but not the least paid, attorney Billy Allen. What the hell is Billy Allen getting paid to do. Does he bring fresh coffee to Michiels, Johnson, Gist and Juneau?

More New Growth: Academy, New Holiday Inn, Grand Theater, Beef O Bradys. Not to mention all the new mom and pops. After Alexandria was stagnant for so many years, there actually has been new growth. If we can only keep the Pentacostals out of politics there will be even more growth in Alex. WE NEED A NEW SPORTS/SPECIAL EVENTS FACILITY.

Yea, Natchitoches has a new special events facility. Correct me if im wrong but I think its named The Martin Luther King facility;or something like that. My friend in Natchitoches says the blacks tear that place up constantly. Ever been to Frank O Hunter park? You cant walk without tripping over empty liquor bottles.
